Teen faces rape raps

A MALE teenager is facing charges for molesting a seven-year-old boy in E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental last week.

Senior Inspector Rhojn Darell Nigos, town police chief, withheld the names of both the victim and the suspect.

The 19-year-old suspect was charged for violation of Republic Act 8353 or the Anti-Rape Law of 1997 in relation to RA 7610 or Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

Nigos said the suspect saw the victim playing with spiders and invited him to catch more spiders. When they arrived at a vacant area, the suspect allegedly raped the minor.

The minor-victim told his parents about the incident when he arrived home.

His parents called for police assistance that resulted to the arrest of the suspect through the help of barangay watchmen.

Nigos said the victim was positive for laceration based on the medical results.

The police chief added that the suspect was reportedly using solvent and has also records for theft.

The suspect refused to be interviewed. (GYM)
