Teen found dead in Cagayan de Oro City

A 19-YEAR-OLD teen was found dead in Upper Puerto, Cagayan de Oro City, on Tuesday, August 29.

Police identified the victim as Joram Narido, resident of Barangay Bugo, a jeepney dispatcher and tricycle driver.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) found seven stab wounds on Narido's chest and another three stab wounds on his neck.

Authorities said the victim's hands and feet were tied using a plastic cable tie and his mouth was covered with a towel.

Chief Inspector Ian Borinaga, police station 6 commander, said the crime may have happened elsewhere since there have been no witnesses to prove that it was committed in the area.

"Posible sa laing lugar gihimo ang krimen unya gilabay lang diha. (It is possible that the crime was done elsewhere. The body was just dumped here)," Borinaga said.

Investigation showed that Narido had previous theft and physical injury cases in 2013 and 2015. The victim also had records of theft complaints in Barangay Bugo, according to Borinaga.

Borinaga said they are looking at theft as one of the motives of the incident.

"Isa na sa atong gitan-aw pero wala pa ta kabalo kung naa ba siya'y kontra daan. (That's one angle that we are looking into, but we do not know if the victim has enemies)," Borinaga said.

Authorities are still conducting further investigation of the incident.
