Teen stabbed 40 times

AUTHORITIES are facing a blank wall on their investigation following the gruesome murder of a 10th grader.

A 16-year-old student from a public high school died Tuesday, December 13, after sustaining multiple stab wounds from still unknown assailants.

PNP regional information officer Marcelo Polig said the case is now in the top priority of the police and is asking for cooperation and calm amidst the brutal death.

Official police records show the crime happened 7:45 a.m., Tuesday at Labsan when Senior Police Officer 2 Anthony Todyog Jr. and Police Officer 2 Marcos Sapao responded to the distress call by the barangay.

The victim, from Sunnyside Fairview, Quezon Hill was rushed the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center but was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physician, Haywood Fernando, who confirmed the boy suffered 40 stab wounds on different parts of his body.

Witness, Monina Pascua Fernandez, 42–years–old, store owner along Kayang Extention told police she was standing at the entrance of her store when a male minor wearing dark jacket, black lower pants with a back pack passed by her and glanced at her twice before he hurriedly walked descending towards the barangay ball.

Pascua said, after few seconds, she heard somebody shouting and then saw the 16-year-old victim in school uniform lying on the pavement in a pool of blood.

Barangay officials were then called and asked the assistance of Emergency Medical Service personnel who brought the victim to the hospital in a bid to save his life.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives team led by Police Senior Inspector Alex Cariño processed the scene and responding police conducted a walkthrough at the crime scene and nearby vicinity and were able to locate a close-circuit television (CCTV) owned by Labsan Barangay.

Police have acquired CCTV footage and now being studied, but no motives or theories have been released police as of press time.
