TELEPERFORMANCE Philippines, in the occasion of their 20th anniversary, launched its Cagayan de Oro City facility at the Centrio Mall along Corrales Avenue last November 18.
The facility is the second in Mindanao after its Davao City site which opened in 2013.
Teleperformance, a business process outsourcing company, employs some 40,000 people in 18 sites in different parts of the country.
The firm has already hired about 300 employees and will hire another 1,300 to fill 1,600 work stations in a call center facility that will occupy four floors of Centrio Mall.
The ribbon cutting and the ceremonial wine-toasting last November 18 was led by the City Mayor Oscar Moreno together with the firm’s managing director, Travis Coates.
Speaking at the ceremony, Moreno called Teleperformance’s entry into the city as a substantial contribution to the economic growth of not just Cagayan de Oro but also of the whole Northern Mindanao region.
“You are not just investing in Cagayan de Oro alone but you are investing the whole province of Misamis Oriental. We are very happy that you are here and we hope that you will be happy also. And in your next anniversary, you will be happier,” Moreno said.
For his part, Coates said they are optimistic about business prospects in the region.
“Our arrival to the City of Cagayan de Oro signifies our strong commitment to the Philippine BPO industry and our confidence in this part of the country,” Coates said.
“Teleperformance is excited to expand into Cagayan de Oro City with its strategic location, superb infrastructure, strong local government support, and excellent talent pool that we surely want to tap. I am confident that with the opening of this new site, we will be able to continue to effectively serve our clients and customers and provide excellent career opportunities,” Coates said.
Coates said they are now welcoming job applications and said the company is fully committed to the labor policies of the new administration.
