The festival's new jingle

THE festival’s celebration will never be complete without the lively musics of Kadayawan Festival.

This year, the City Government of Davao decided to change the decade-long festival jingle and launched a new one to be relevant to the present time.

On August 1, the full version of the new jingle, entitled “Kadayawan Kahiusahan (Kadayawan Celebration in Unity),” composed and arranged by Popong Landero was launched through the Kadayawan official page.

Davao City Tourism Officer Generose Tecson told SunStar Davao in an interview that Joey Ayala, who composed the previous jingle, himself suggested to change the jingle.

The song talks about the celebration of Kadayawan as an ageless story of unity and resiliency.

Moreover, the song said that Dabawenyos coexist with nature and gather together to share its graces. Also, it tells about the resiliency and strength of the people that make them united and how the people should give thanks to the Almighty who graced them with bountiful nature.

The jingle was performed by artists Popong Landero, Joey Ayala, Bayang Barrios, Maan Chua, Raffy Ayala, Maree Contaoi Cayas, and Duchess in Throne.
