FOUR days remain before the biggest triathlon event, the Cobra Ironman 70.3, blasts off and the elite triathletes have started arriving and made sure to express their excitement over the social media.

F1 driver Jenson Button is back for the second time and arrived with his team yesterday.

Pete Jacobs, last year’s men’s runner-up will be arriving today, while defending women’s champion Caroline Steffen will be arriving tomorrow.

Australian Belinda Granger, last year’s bronze medalist in the women’s pro tweeted that she is ready to race in her all-time favorite race.

This will be Granger’s fourth time to race in the Philippines.

She just recently returned to Australia but is getting ready for the Ironman 70.3 in Shangri-la Mactan this Sunday.

“Five days back home and It is time to head overseas once again. Batteries are well and truly recharged..ready to race in Cebu,” said Granger.

Granger, 44, is a 15 times Ironman distance champion and have competed in 50 Ironman distance races. She is also a member of the Australian Ironman Hall of Fame. Granger placed third last year behind champion Caroline Steffen of Switzerland and Bree Wee the of United States.

Another women’s pro Rebecca Hoschke also posted her thoughts on the coming sporting event: “Looking forward to my next race experience Philippines 70.3,” she said.

Dimity-Lee Duke, racing in the men’s side even felt Cebu deserves its own hashtag.

“One week till race day! #CobraIronMan703 #BringItOn #LoveThisCity,” Duke posted.

Another men’s pro triathlete Matt Burton expects to having an exciting week.

“Great week ahead-destination #Cebu for #Philippines @CobraIronMan703. Back on race track,” posted Burton.

Meanwhile, the Cebu City Public Information Office (Pio) have released a traffic advisory, traffic re-routing plan for the Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines.

“We wish to announce and inform the riding public that vehicular traffic will be re-routed on the affected streets along the route of the Ironman race; a total closure along Serging Osmeña blvd., from Mahiga Bridge (Boundary of Mandaue and Cebu City) up to Legaspi Extension, to underpass, then to South Coastal Road/SRP, whole stretch up to Talisay City on Aug.3 at 5 a.m to 12 p.m,” posted on its official Facebook page.
