Thunderstorm alert up in Metro Cebu

THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has warned residents in Metro Cebu against flash floods and landslides, as it issued Tuesday a thunderstorm advisory.

Pagasa issued the advisory at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, stating the thunderstorm in Metro Cebu would likely develop within 12 hours.

It also issued the advisory at 9 a.m. over Las Piñas, Parañaque, Muntinlupa, Pasay of Metro Manila; Bataan, Batangas, and Laguna of the National Capital Region; Benguet, Baguio; and portion of Cavite. These areas, Pagasa said, are already experiencing heavy rains with lightning and strong winds.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rains are affecting Nueva Ecija and portion of Tarlac. The downpour will continue within two to three hours. Light to moderate rains are expected over Zambales, Pampanga and Bulacan within the next two hours.
