MASANTOL -- The local government here, in coordination with the Hermanidad 2017 officials, were able to raise P45,000 through a zumba fundraising event held Wednesday at the San Miguel Parish Church Patio.

Led by Mayor Danilo Guintu and wife Hermana Mayor Monica Fulgencio-Guintu, the dance event aims to put up funds for the benefit of needy Kabalens.

According to Guintu, the organizing team was able to collect funds through ticket selling which cost some P300 each and was participated in by 150 fitness enthusiasts.

He added that aside from raising cash funds, the event also aims to promote healthy and fun activities where zumba is very much known for.

Guintu also disclosed that proceeds of the said event will be used to purchase school supplies for deserving indigent public elementary students in chosen villages.

Meanwhile, the local chief executive also expressed gratitude to those who participated in the fundraising activity.

He stressed that the event is only part of the many programs slated for this year’s celebration of town fiesta. (Princess Clea Arcellaz)
