SMILES, shy glances, and giggles were the main accessories as little models walked – and sometimes ran – the “DenimVasion” runway at SM City Davao’s Annex Event Center last Sunday.
The Denim collection kicked off with a remarkable response from shoppers including parents and kids who patiently waited in turns just to register for the show. Kids with ages 2 to 10 years old joined the dress-up-your-denim activity with a chance to model their creation on the runway.
Over 126 cute girls and boys strutted on the runway in an incredibly fun and adventurous denim moment when anything from patched or bedazzled jeans, jacket, skirt, rompers or shirt ruled the stage. The trick is putting all the pieces together to make a statement. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen denim so diverse and desirable on the runways.
For a minimum purchase of P1,000 pesos from SM Kids, boys and girls can pick their new favorites from a selection of jogger pants, chambray, denim vest, denim hoodie, overalls, denim graphic tees, denim polos, denim skirt and ombre shorts.
We started the day of the show really early. Preparation included everything from selecting clothes, fitting, doing hair, makeup to little rehearsals, including dressing up each denim outfits with laces, studs, buttons, gems, pop graphics, sequins, patches, and fabrics. When all the preparations were done, the whole event center was filled with eager parents and audience.
One word to describe the show? Adorable! You can't even argue about it. The runway featured styles for boys and girls and from toddlers to pre-teens. They were bright, colorful, and shiny. The audience was crazy for these cute little fashionistas.
