TYPHOON Nina has weakened into a severe tropical storm as it continues to move away from the country, weather bureau Pagasa said on Tuesday.
In a weather bulletin released by Pagasa at 11 a.m. Tuesday, it has announced that the eye of the typhoon Nina is now over west of Iba, Zambales.
According to Pagasa, Nina, which now has a maximum sustained winds of up to 105 kph and gustiness of up to 130 kph will possibly exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Tuesday evening, December 27.
The bureau advised the public and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council to take appropriate actions and watch for the next weather bulletin to be issued at 11 p.m. today.
Typhoon Nina, with International name Nock-Ten, made a total of eight landfalls all over the country.
It has left four fatalities in Bicol and more than 300,000 individuals displaced.
Catanduanes and Camarines Sur, the two provinces that are badly affected by Nina, were both placed under state of calamity. (Sunnex)
