FOUR teams from the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) will see action in the 16th National Intercollegiate Volleyball Championship which starts Wednesday, May 27, in Baguio City.
The teams are De La Salle University, Adamson University, Far Eastern University, and University of the Philippines.
Danilo Cong-o, acting secretary general of the Philippine Volleyball Federation-Cordillera Administrative Region Chapter, said more than 10 teams signed up for the tournament.
"So far the four UAAP squads already assured their participation, the other list of contestants will be given after the opening ceremonies," Cong-o told Sun.Star Baguio.
UP won last year's women's crown after the former titlists La Salle skipped the tournament.
Cong-o is still waiting for confirmation from National University, who has won the men's division for the past three years.
Local entries will be led by Baguio-Benguet Educational Athletic League men and women's champions University of Baguio and the University of the Cordilleras.
