United States FBI awards 3 Cebu police

THE United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (US-FBI) awarded three officers of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) on Thursday afternoon, August 17.

The officers were awarded for helping the FBI agents arrest alleged sex offender Peter Alan Towle.

Alexander Gordon, US Embassy assistant legal attaché, gave the awards to Superintendent Ryan Manongdo, the CPPO deputy director, Police Officer 1 Moreto Sagario of Provincial Intelligence Branch, and Police Officer 1 Baldwin Silvano of Sta. Fe Police Station.

The officers caught Towle on December 14 last year.

Towle, a convicted pedophile, was ordered re-arrested by a California court in 2013 for his failure to register as a sex offender.

He was previously convicted on charges of engaging in lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age.
