For its golden founding anniversary celebration with the theme, “Bulawanong Paghinumdum, Bulawanong Panlantaw (Golden Commemoration, Golden Vision),” the Dabawnons celebrate the evolution, development and achievements of the province over the past 50 years.
"We celebrate while capitalizing on unity among people and nurturing their proud heritage, enduring multicultural identity, resiliency and creativity in building a better future," Governor Anthony del Rosario said.
He added that the shifting development strategies of the past provincial governors allowed the province to overcome the hurdles in meeting the challenges of modernization.
The progress, Del Rosario said, is a result of right balance between advancing infrastructures and enhanced delivery of social services and income opportunities.
From best destinations boasting a good mix of island to highland experience to the best sources of the world’s prime export in its banana products, the province continues to optimize its resources to gain comparative advantage.
