This is how the different jubilarian classes will be greeting each other come Homecoming Day at St. Theresa’s College (STC) on July 27, a Saturday. What makes 2013 special is that STC will turn 80 years, so the theme is “Its More Fun at STC at ‘80.”
But there’s such a thing as pre-homecoming activities, and how! Read on!

rJuly 23-24 (Tuesday/Wednesday) – 8-10 a.m. – Career talks at the Marie Adolphine Hall for third and fourth year students. Rehearsals from 10 a.m.-12 noon, and again from 1:30-4:30 p.m. by the Jubilarian classes.
July 25 (Thursday) – General rehearsal at the Marie Adolphine Hall.
July 26 (Friday) – Recollection spearheaded by the Ruby jubilarians 9 a.m.-12 noon, at the San Pedro Calungsod Shrine at the SRP. Fr. Jerry Orbos SVD is the recollection master. All jubilarians and alumnae are invited. Please advise the STAA office if you are attending.
Then 2-6 p.m. - Institutional welcome at STC lobby on R. Aboitiz St. July 27 (Saturday) – Homecoming day at 1 p.m. Picture-taking on steps of Marie Louise de Meester Bldg. with 15-minute intervals from youngest to eldest. Then 1-3 p.m., registration; 3-4 p.m., Eucharistic Celebration; 5 p.m., program at Marie Adolphine Hall; and 7 p.m. onwards, dinner, raffles and dancing at Covered Court.
The activities do not end here, no siree. Each jubilarian class has its own agenda before or after July 27. We shall keep you posted. All Theresians, hail!

On the subject of the academe, we are just as honored writing about her, as her dear mom is, cackling like a doting mother hen. Atty. Patricia Cristina “Tracy” Tan Ngochua, J. D. LL.M, has brought home the bacon and done her family and country proud, especially mom, Myrna Cruz Tan, who attended her graduation from New York University School of Law, with a masters in law (LL.M) degree in corporation law.
Among Tracy’s many accomplishments, we have singled out these major ones. Tracy was class valedictorian at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law when she graduated in 2007. She received the gold medal for academic excellence, the St. Thomas More Most Distinguished Award (the highest distinction given to an Ateneo Law School graduated), and was the recipient of the Dean’s Award for Best Thesis (gold medal).
Other honors were the Arthur I. Vanderbilt Scholarship (full tuition merit-based scholarship) and the Mori Hamada & Matsumoto LLP Scholarship.
After obtaining her masters in law (LL.M) degree from NYU School of Law (NYU Law) Tracy was awarded a fellowship by NYU Law and placed with the Geneva Office of the International Institute of Sustainable Development (IISD).
An NYU fellow, Tracy worked closely with the members of IISD’s investment and sustainable development program to provide advice to developing countries on International Investment Law and the more technical aspects of investment treaty.
Last October, she assisted the organization at the sixth annual forum for developing country investment treaty negotiators at Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
After she passed the New York State bar this year, youthful, brilliant and attractive Tracy can also claim to be well-traveled, having lived in three continents in the last two years.
At present, she is with Tokyo-based law firm Mori, Hamada & Matsumoto LLP, a Japanese “Big Four” firm known for its active mergers and acquisition practice. Reason for the farewell dinner hosted by her tito Ed Alegrado at the Cebu Country Club. Attendees were mom Myrna Cruz Tan and some members of the Zonta Club of Cebu 2, of which mom was president.
Upon her return, she will resume work at the Romulo, Mabanta, Buenaventura, Sayoc, and De Los Angeles Makati Office as Senior Associate.
Sayonara for now Tracy, and congrats for having reached the pinnacle of success!
