Utzurrum: Wedding destination: Catmon, Cebu

PETITE and pretty Cebuana, Nicole Alexis Dakay Siao, met the man of her dreams while working as an Intensive Care Unit nurse in Las Vegas (Nevada), USA!

His name? Craig Matthew Kelly, Lexus executive, who was instantly mesmerized by her dusky beauty. After the routine courtship, the Cebuana decided that no other destination would do—Cebu, and specifically Catmon, for their wedding.

So on a rainy afternoon, at the St. Joseph Parish, the couple, daughter of Shane Patrick Siao and Norine Dakay Siao, vowed to “love, honor and obey till death do us part.” Also present were the groom’s parents: James and Victoria Kelly. Some of the entourage members also flew in from abroad, to witness this all-important occasion.

The ceremony went on, under a torrential downpour, which augured well for the couple. As they say, rain brings prosperity and a big, happy family!

Guests then motored to a resort nearby, called Ripples owned by the Senining family, where a pristine table setting awaited them. By this time, dusk had fallen upon the place, and the romantic flickering of candlelight on tabletops made for an intimate wedding reception.

Bride Nicole and partner Craig then dropped by each table to pose with guests. The bride was garbed in a flattering gown by Peewee Rodney Senining, who also fashioned the matching brooch bouquet. Dashing Craig was the perfect groom in a barong.

As the celebratory toasts and kisses went on, photographer Franklin Adrian Yu and videographer Nelo Rebojo were busy recording the event. We didn’t miss the poignant scene between doting “lolo” Eddie Dakay and “apo” Nicole. Secretly, he must have wished that dear departed wife, “lola” Norma was present for this family milestone. Actually, Ed, Norma was smiling from heaven!
