THE University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers won their 12th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) collegiate basketball championship title after defeating the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters, 69-56, in Game 3 at the New Cebu Coliseum on Sunday, October 15.
Rey Anthony Suerte led the Green Lancers with 20 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Bassieru Sackor also crashed 11 rebounds he also had 9 points, 4 steals, and a block.
The Green Lancers lost game 1 to the Webmasters, but they stepped up to take game 2 and game 3 to win their back to back title. The University of the Visayas Baby lancers also won their junior’s title last Thursday, October 12.
The UV Green Lancers has won the championship titles from 2001-2009, 2013, and in 2016.
