Village councilman, 4 others arrested for drugs post bail

FIVE of the seven, including a village councilman, arrested in a drug bust at Mansilingan village, Bacolod City last April 22 posted bail last Thursday, April 27 after they were charged for possession of drugs

Chief Inspector Charles Gever, head of Police Station 7, said Friday that councilman Von Carlo Guimbal of Cabug village in Bacolod City, who was charged for possession of dangerous drugs, drug paraphernalia and drug use, released from police custody Thursday afternoon.

Four others, including Renato Nicor Sr., 53, of Florenceville Subdivision, Barangay Pahanocoy John Mark Amodia, 25, of Purok BM, Barangay Taculing and two of the suspects, whom he failed, were also released.

Guimbal was caught holding a “pot session” with Nicor, Amodia along with Joery Casiano, 40, of Alijis village, Dindo Crispe, 27, of Purok Banaue, Villamonte village, and Robert Azero, 26, of Blumentritt village, Murcia during a drug bust conducted against 40-year-old Josan Cawacas, with a recovery of P10,000 worth of illegal drugs.

Gever said Cawacas who was charged for sale and possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia and another suspect charged for drug use are still detained at the station’s custodial facility.
