SECRETARY Mark Villar of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will lead the inauguration of the Araneta-Magsaysay flyover in Bacolod City Tuesday morning.
Bacolod Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya said on Monday, December 19, he is very grateful to the National Government for the construction of the structure.
The Araneta-Magsaysay flyover has total project cost of P365 million which was converted into economic construction cost of P321.2 million, using the standard economic conversion factors.
The DPWH allotted P32.008 million for civil works.
Gasataya said the construction of the flyover is not only for the aspect of helping the traffic situation in the area, but more so the projection that there will be a mega structure in the southern part of Bacolod that will boost the city’s economy.
He said that two additional flyovers could be constructed in the proposed areas at CL Montelibano or along Burgos Street and Bangga Cory.
Gasataya added he is hopeful that the papers will come out in 2018 so that the projects will be constructed in 2019.
