DABAWENYO triathlete Peter Villocino will vie for honors in the Altritude-High Altitude Off-Road Triathlon slated January 22 at the Lake Apo Valencia, Bukidnon City.
Villocino, 27, said the event will serve as his tune-up for the much-awaited Durianman on April 2.
Bukidnon City is the hometown of Villocino’s arch-rival Jong Sajulga who is a four-time Durianman defending champion.
Villocino said he expects Sajulga will be his stiffest rival.
“Daghan mga elite nga mudayo sa Durianman, pero target nako si Sajulga (A lot of elite participants will compete but I am targeting to beat Sajulga),” he said.
Villocino, who finished second in 2016 Cobra Ironman 70.3 Asia Pacific Championship in Cebu City and placed 22nd in Ironman Taiwan, hopes to bring home the honor for the city. (ABM)
