THE Vice Mayor’s Office (VMO) dominated the AUSI, beating them 83-107 in the recent Phoenix Petroleum 36 and Above basketball tournament held at Almendras Gym last May 22.
Bong Go was able to score 21 points, all of which were three pointers, during the first quarter of the game. The quarter ended with VMO having an eleven point lead at 27-16.
On the second quarter, VMO continued to dominate the AUSI with a 25 point lead, ending the quarter at 41-66.
On the third quarter, AUSI aimed to catch up with VMO by playing more aggressively. They managed to block most of the attempted shots of VMO. They also stole the ball from VMO multiple times during the quarter. Meanwhile most of VMO’s attempted shots were missed during this quarter due to the effective defense of AUSI. However, VMO managed to maintain a huge lead against AUSI at 60-87.
On the fourth quarter, the game began at a very slow pace. Yet, during the last two minutes of the game, VM0’s Go was able to score four successive three point shots. The game ended with VMO leading with 24 points.
VMO’s top scorers were Go with 50 points, Mondigo with 12 points, and Alfeche with 11 points.
AUSI’s top scorers were Del Campo with 26 points, Pogoy with 14 points, and Jumaway and Vidal, each with 12 points.
