THE green light is on for the staging of the We Run Davao slated Sunday in an out-and-back course from Victoria Plaza Mall.
Organizers expect some 800 runners in the event presented by Colegio de San Ignacio (CdSI) Parents-Teacher in cooperation with the City Government of Davao and the Federation of Parents Teachers Association.
CSD prefect of discipline Ramon Quinagon III, in a phone interview with Sun.Star Davao, said the footrace aims to promote running and to help raise funds for the construction of the covered court.
It features three-kilometer (3K), 5K, and 10K. The turning point for the 3K will be at North Point, 5K at Mana Antique Shop, and 10K at Caltex Lanang.
Registration fee is P300 inclusive of singlet, race bib, and snacks. Pre-school children will also have a separate category. Medals are at stake for the top five finishers.
PTA president lawyer Ronald Tolentino, for his part, said the run was earlier set in February but some students were affected by Typhoon Pablo, thus, it was reset.
