Western Visayas now at No. 2; NIR drops to 3rd

WESTERN Visayas dislodged Negros Island Region (NIR) to take the second place in the medal tally of the ongoing 2017 Palarong Pambansa in Antique as of 8 p.m. Tuesday.

After earning four golds, one silver, and two bronzes on Monday, the NIR dropped to third place with a medal count of seven gold medals, seven silvers, and four bronzes.

Western Visayas, Negros Occidental’s former region, garnered 10 golds, seven silvers, and eight bronzes to climb to the second spot in Day 3.

Perennial champion National Capital Champion still led the medal tally with 46 golds, 23 silvers, and 13 bronze medals.

Cordillera Administrative Region was in fourth place with 7-1-1 medal count, while Calabarzon was fifth with 15-13-15.
