William Stringfellow, new executive chef of Marco Polo Plaza Cebu

MARCO Polo Plaza Cebu is known for its excellent food and its team of culinary experts. Leading this team is the new captain of Marco Polo Plaza's kitchens - British executive chef William Stringfellow.

At the young age of 15, Chef William started exposing himself to kitchen work at hotels and restaurants. He eventually worked his way through culinary college in the UK and started his first job in London.

He brings to Marco Polo Plaza Cebu more than 25 years of experience in the kitchen, being a highly accomplished manager and chef with an expertise in international cuisine. He has been an executive chef in establishments in China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Europe, Thailand, USA, Egypt, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, UK and the Caribbean.

"Coming to Cebu is an exciting new venture for me. Asia has been where my skills were honed and it is where it will continually be honed," Chef William said.

He is no stranger to the Marco Polo Hotels, as he also previously held an executive chef position at a Marco Polo hotel in Changzhou, China.

His game plan is to continue to maintain a harmonious working environment in the kitchen that encourages creativity and teamwork. One rule he lives by is understanding that “working in any kitchen places you in a position of great responsibility, therefore you need to be serious about every decision you make and at the same time enjoy what you do.”

Marco Polo Plaza Cebu is confident that with what Chef William can bring to the table, the hotel will continue to uphold its brand of culinary excellence. (PR)
