Winners in Golden Screen Awards bared
THE Entertainment Press (Enpress) recognized Wednesday night the country’s outstanding artists and films for 2009 at the 7th Golden Screen Awards.
Kapuso leading actor Dennis Trillo and former Beauty Queen Maria Isabel Lopez received the Best Supporting trophies for their role in “Mano Po 6” and “Kinatay”, respectively.
Kapamilya talent Coco Martin was awarded with the Best Performance by an Actor for Drama in his role in “Kinatay” while Roderick Paulate won the Best Performance by an Actor for Comedy in the film “Dead na si Lolo”.
Paulate’s movie also bagged the Best Motion Picture award.
The Best Performance by Actress in a Leading Role was both awarded to Eugene Domingo for Musical or Comedy category (Kimi Dora) and Iza Calzado for Drama (Dukot).
Award-winning independent film director Brillante Mendoza won the Best Director and Best Motion Picture for "Kinatay”.
Though she was not present during the ceremony, Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto was awarded with the Lino Brocka Lifetime Achievement Award for her exceptional achievement in the movie industry. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
