With each step

IT all began with this longing for the right pair of shoes; shoes with the perfect arch, the heel height that’s just right, not to mention the kind of pair that bespeaks a timeless style one can wear any time of the day. It was from that desire that sister duo Celyn and Trifina Sala launched homegrown shoe line Sala Chaussures.

Established during the later part of 2013, this brand is a passion project that has spawned shoe collections bearing truly unique and unforgettable designs.

Taking inspiration from so many things be it from travel, art, things they see around them and even from movers and shakers of the shoe making industry, it has produced quite a number of collections with distinct themes and elements from Greek mythology, Egyptian mythology and even a collection inspired by the literary works of William Shakespeare and his plays. This proves that the crafting has been taken to a place that is far from the usual.

This year, they present Les Classiques, a collection which features classic favorites in different variations and will form a part of the brand’s universal classics. Some of the styles in the collection include the Ekaterina Ballet flats, the sisters’ take on the classic ballet flats that come in two shades: blush-toned ones with champagne ribbons and in a dark blue color with black velvet ribbons.

Apart from that, there’s also the Kitsune which in Japanese, means fox. It comes in flats and heels and in different colors from yellow, nude and a black color. Playfully structured, this newest classic has an origami-like design and is inspired by two things: the fox’s ears and the shoes Trifina wore on her wedding day.

The Atalanta pumps the brand’s earlier collection, makes an appearance which is a classic high heeled pump with a bow in blush and black colors. Other styles include the Atalanta Petite, which is a reincarnation from the classic design in gold; The Coquette Petite, the newest addition to the brand’s Weekender series as well as the Apophis pumps, the brand’s popular dragon-winged pumps, but this time in colors of black and pewter.

Armed with the guiding theme being decadence in the design philosophy, these are shoes in devotion not just to the craft of making head turners but also a timeless piece of decadence for girls in search of what to them may just be a perfect pair they can flaunt and step out on with the greatest of ease, leaving traces of elegance along the way.
