Woman loses P200K in jewelry to robbers

A WIFE of a British national lost P200,000 worth of jewelry and a firearm when her house was robbed by unidentified men at Greenland Subdivision, Barangay 4 in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday.

Inspector Raymundo Franco, deputy chief of Himamaylan City Police Station, said the robbers entered the house of 46-year-old Mila Britton by destroying the glass window.

The robbers went inside the masters bedroom and carted away the owner’s jewelry and a .45 caliber pistol.

Britton went to London, England for her husband’s medical treatment six months ago and the house was being watched by her sister-in-law Fatima Marquez, who discovered the incident, two days after she went home.

Franco said the robbers, believed to be residing in the area, possibly monitored the activities of the caretaker.

Meanwhile, Genfe Deslate, 52, lost P9,335 worth of groceries when her store was robbed by unidentified men at Purok Ilang-Ilang, Barangay Poblacion, Valladolid town on the same day.
