Zamboanga City builds P29-M new police headquarters

MAYOR Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said the new headquarters of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) is set to be unveiled and turned over by September 28 with Philippine National Police Director-General Ronald Dela Rosa as the guest of honor.

The new ZCPO headquarters building by the local government worth P29 million is located at the back of City Hall.

Salazar said the project is one of the monumental testaments to Zamboanga City’s firm support to the security sector.

The mayor said she has formally invited De la Rosa to keynote the event as well as to grace and anti-drug advocacy for Zamboangueno youths on the same day.

Once relocated to the new police office building, the present ZCPO headquarters will be occupied by Police Station 11, the biggest police station with jurisdiction over the entire city proper area.

Salazar also announced that the City Government is set to purchase modern transportation facilities to improve mobility of the local police.

She vowed to remain firm in her support to the police and other law enforcement agencies including the military in a bid to ensure the security and protection of the city and its residents. (Sunnex)
