Zamboanga hosts RPOC Mindanao cluster meeting

ZAMBOANGA City is hosting the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) Mindanao cluster meeting on Thursday, April 12.

The whole-day Mindanao-wide activity will by president by Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) OIC-Secretary Eduardo Año.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said among those who will attend are RPOC chairpersons in Mindanao to include herself as the RPOC-Zamboanga Peninsula chairperson.

The others who will attend the meeting are: Governor Mujib Hataman, Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Armm); Governor Esmael Mangudadatu, Maguindanao; Governor Angel Amante-Matba, Agusan del Norte; Governo Tyrone Uy, Compostela Valley; and, Mayor Oscar Moreno, Cagayan de Oro.

They will be joined by their vice chairpersons who are the police directors in their respective regions.

Also expected to attend the meeting are the military: the division commanders under the Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) and the Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom).

Año, who is the National Peace and Order Council chairperson, has been doing the rounds of the different regions in Mindanao for the holding of the RPOC Mindanao Cluster meetings.

Top agenda of the meeting will be the prevailing security situation in Mindanao, vis-a-vis the different campaigns against illegal drugs, terrorism and the rebel groups. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
