Zamboanga processes 8,217 business registrations, renewals

A TOTAL of 8,217 applications for business registration and renewal were assessed and processed by the Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) at Centro Latino Convention Center in Paseo del Mar from January 3 to 20, the period for filing designated by law.

City Licensing Division Chief Benjie Barredo said that 7,937 of the 8,217 applications submitted are renewal while 280 are new business applications.

Barredo said that over 500 applications were filed and received by the BOSS for January 20 alone, the last day of filing.

These applications will be processed during weekend and the remaining working days of January, according to Barredo.

He said that the City Treasurer’s Office has extended the payment hours up to 10 p.m., Friday, January 20.

It is recalled that the City Council in a special session last Thursday, January 19, has approved an ordinance extending the deadline for the payment of business tax to January 31.

The BOSS is a system where all offices and agencies involve in the business registration and renewal processes are housed at the Centro Latino Convention Center.

From January 3 to 20, the BOSS operated from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. during weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during weekends.

Barredo said BOSS will continue to operate at Centro Latino Convention Center until the end of January to process applications submitted from January 3 to 20.

He said that renewal applications submitted after January 20 will be subjected to the surcharges and penalties. (SunStar Philippines)
