Zamboanga Sibugay to implement P302.5-M Pamana projects

IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay -- Some P302.5-million worth of projects funded by the government's Payapa Masaganang Pamayanan (Pamana) is set to be implemented by the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay this year.

Engr. Jarani Dacula, water works chief of the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO), said the beneficiaries of the multi-million projects are the towns of Olutanga, Payao, Mabuhay, Ipil, Tungawan, and Titay.

The projects include the concreting of some barangay roads and water system.

The villages of Linguisan, Looc Labuan, Lower Tungawan, and Tiglibas in Tungawan town will benefit from the Level 2 Water Supply System project.

The PEO is tasked to implement and oversee the Pamana projects, Dacula added.

Pamana is the National Government's convergence program that extends development interventions to isolated, hard-to-reach and conflict-affected communities, ensuring that they are not left behind. It was started under the Aquino administration.

It is a complementary track to peace negotiations. The program is anchored on the government's strategy of winning the peace by forging strategic partnerships with national agencies in promoting convergent delivery of goods and services, and addressing regional development challenges in conflict-affected and vulnerable areas.
