ZamPen business confab reels-off

ZAMBOANGA City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc. (ZCCIFI) President Pedro Rufo Soliven said 300 participants are attending the three-day 6th ZamPen (Zamboanga Peninsula) business conference in this city.

The business conference, which is the grandest and biggest event of business stakeholders, reels off Thursday and ends Saturday.

Soliven said the business conference aims to unite the business community of Zamboanga Peninsula in a concerted effort to address local and regional issues crucial to the conduct of business in the region.

It is aims to identify and promote strategic advantages and richness of the area specifically in the field of agriculture, aquaculture and tourism, Soliven said.

He said the three-day activity is also aimed to establish strategic linkages between the government and the private sectors in support to President Benigno Aquino III's vision of a Public-Private-Partnership.

Aside from Zamboanga Peninsula, Soliven said the participants include those from the provinces of Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi in the autonomous region, including the cities of Oroquieta and Ozamiz.

The three-day event is themed “ZamPen Moving Forward As One.” (Bong Garcia)
