FOUR Filipinos were injured in Israel after Iran launched a retaliatory air strike over the weekend, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Sunday, June 15, 2025.

The four were part of a group in a park in Rehovot, a city 20 kilometers south of Tel Aviv, when an Iranian missile struck the area. They were brought to a hospital for treatment.

In a separate incident, a missile destroyed the home of a Filipina in Ramat Gan, west of Tel Aviv. She was unharmed after taking refuge in a bomb shelter. The Philippine Embassy is assisting her.

Iran’s attack was a response to Israel’s launching of several missiles that targeted several Iranian military assets and personnel on Friday, June 13, 2025.

The DFA is now assessing whether to recommend voluntary or mandatory repatriation for the approximately 30,000 Filipinos living and working in Israel. Contingency plans are in place should the conflict worsen.

Israel has since closed its airspace, suspending all flights. The Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv continues to issue safety advisories, urging citizens to stay in bomb shelters after sirens sound to avoid falling debris from intercepted missiles. / From the wires
