VLADIVOSTOK — All 49 people aboard a Russian passenger plane that crashed near Tynda, a city in Russia’s Far East, have been confirmed dead, the Investigative Committee (IC) said Thursday, July 24, 2025.
“Everyone on board the aircraft has died,” said Svetlana Petrenko, spokesperson of the IC, on its Telegram channel.
The An-24 aircraft, operated by Angara Airlines, was en route from Khabarovsk to Tynda, with a stopover in Blagoveshchensk. The aircraft was expected to contact air traffic controllers at a checkpoint near Tynda airport but failed to check in. The wreckage was found on a mountainside about 15 kilometers from the city.
There were 43 passengers and six crew members, according to Amur Oblast Gov. Vasily Orlov, who posted the information on Telegram.
Among the passengers was a Chinese citizen, the Chinese Consulate General in Khabarovsk said. The consulate will send a working group to the crash site Friday, July 25, to assist with follow-up actions. / XINHUA
