TEHRAN — Iran on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, condemned Israel for killing Palestinians in Gaza and depriving residents of food, water, medicine, and other basic needs.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry expressed deep concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, attributing it to Israel’s “horrible crimes.”
The ministry called on the international community and countries in the West Asia region to take immediate and effective action to stop what it described as genocide and to reduce the suffering of Palestinians.
The ministry said Israel continues to impose an inhumane siege on Gaza, bomb centers sheltering displaced people, and turn humanitarian aid distribution sites into “traps” for targeting and killing hungry and thirsty residents. These actions, the ministry said, demonstrate the cruelty of Israel and its supporters.
Gaza’s health authorities said Tuesday that at least 8,268 Palestinians have been killed and 30,470 injured in Gaza since Israel resumed military operations on March 18. The total number of deaths has reached 59,106, with 142,511 injured since the war erupted in October 2023.
Health officials reported 15 more deaths, including four children, from starvation and malnutrition in the past 24 hours. The death toll from starvation has risen to 101, including 80 children, since March. / XINHUA
