Three kids from Pampanga, who are part of the country's 100 Millionth Symbolic Babies, turned 11 years old on July 27, 2025.
The Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Region III said the children were born at midnight on July 27, 2014, when the Philippines reached its 100 millionth mark in population count.
These kids were chosen to represent their respective provinces in the region, the agency said.
The were named Lucky Jayve S. Catli from Pampanga; Kylie E. Dalusung from the City of San Fernando; and Claire Jiliene A. Garlejo from Mabalacat City.
The other kids, holding the 100 millionth babies in Central Luzon are Cindy Jane D. Garcia from Aurora; Jelo Mae G. Zabala from Bataan; Elijah Marie Reyes Bulacan; Calfana Rein Deliquiña from Zambales; and Kristeoff F. Santiago from Tarlac.
The special group of eight children from the region were recognized by the CPD and their respective local government units during the global celebration of World Population Day 2025 themed “Empowering Young People to Create the Families They Want in a Fair and Hopeful World.”
“As these children enter early adolescence, it is crucial that we, especially the local government units, provide them with the support, opportunities, and services they need to thrive. Their health, education, and overall development must be safeguarded through responsive programs like the Adolescent Health and Development initiative,” the agency said.
"The symbolic babies serve as a reminder of the responsibilities the local government units, in ensuring that every child — not just in numbers but in potential — is given the chance to grow in a nurturing and empowering environment. They are symbols of the nation’s collective aspiration for a better, more inclusive future," the CPD added.
