
Twelve members of communist-affiliated groups in Central Luzon surrendered to authorities between May 13 and 16, the Police Regional Office III said.
On May 13, 2025, “Ka Mia,” a former member of the KLG-TAR-ZAM, surrendered in Camiling, Tarlac. She turned over a .38-caliber revolver to the authorities through the assistance of the Camiling Municipal Police Station.
On May 16, 2025, nine individuals from Guimba, Nueva Ecija, identified as members of the Liga ng Manggagawang Bukid, also surrendered.
They withdrew support from the Alyansang Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luzon (AMGL), which is linked to the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas. The surrender was facilitated by the Nueva Ecija police and other agencies.
That same day, “Ka Ruby,” 42, a former member of the Rebolusyonaryong Hukbong Bayan (RHB), surrendered in Camp Alejo S. Santos, Bulacan. She turned over a snub-nose .38-caliber revolver with three bullets.
In Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija, “Nonoy,” 32, a former member of the Pambansang Katipunan ng Magsasaka (PKM), also surrendered and handed over a .38-caliber revolver with four bullets.
Brigadier General Jean S. Fajardo, director of Police Regional Office III, said the surrender of former rebels "shows the success of the government’s anti-insurgency efforts and the willingness of former insurgents to return to peaceful life."
“Ang mga serye ng pagsuko ay malinaw na nagpapakita ng tagumpay ng pinaigting na kampanya ng pamahalaan laban sa insurhensiya sa ilalim ng Oplan Balik-Loob at mga inisyatiba ng mga lokal na Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC). Ipinapakita rin nito ang muling pagbabalik-loob ng mga dating rebelde sa mapayapang pamumuhay at ang patuloy na pagkilos ng PNP sa pagtataguyod ng kapayapaan at kaayusan sa rehiyon,” she said.
