The Social Security System (SSS) has given 16 establishments in Malolos City, Bulacan a 15-day ultimatum to settle their outstanding obligations or face legal action.
The agency said the written orders were served to the employers, which included a private school, restaurants, manufacturing firms, manpower services, and cleaning companies.
The directive was issued during a recent Run Against Contributions Evaders (RACE) operation led by the SSS Malolos Branch.
"These establishments collectively owe an estimated 10.8 million pesos in overdue contributions, affecting 204 employees. A single school accounts for P2.5 million in unpaid premiums dating back to 2011. Additionally, cleaning service companies accumulated P1.85 million in collectibles during the Covid-19 pandemic," the SSS said.
The agency added that before a written order is issued, delinquent employers are first monitored and identified by SSS Account Officers.
Legal action, as mandated under Sections 22A, 22D, and 28E of Republic Act 11199 (Social Security Act of 2018), will be pursued if employers fail to respond and communicate with the SSS within the 15-day compliance period.
Delinquent payers are subject to a two percent monthly penalty, though they may apply for an installment program.
The SSS Luzon Central 2 cluster disclosed it has collected a total of P6 billion in 2024. Of this amount, 5.7 billion pesos came from regular, on-time contributions, with an additional P288.78 million recovered through intensified efforts across 10 branches in the cluster.
Some P141.41 million was collected from SSS branches in Bulacan (Malolos, Baliwag, Santa Maria, Bocaue, Meycauayan, and San Jose Del Monte) as a result of focused RACE operations.
