Four towns in Aurora province were recognized as "digital trailblazers" by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for their public service using modern technology and efficient government procedures.
The towns included Baler, Dingalan, Dipaculao, and Maria Aurora.
The DICT said the municipalities were chosen for their convenient digital services for citizens and businesses.
The agency said the recognition of the local government units were based on the availability of online business permit applications, online payment systems, and the use of integrated barangay clearance systems.
“The Digital Trailblazer award proves that digital transformation is possible even in rural areas when there is clear direction, sufficient technical support, and strong collaboration from local leadership,” the DICT said.
