The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested five individuals and confiscated suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Talipapa, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija on Tuesday, April 29.
The agency identified the suspects as San, 49; Dict, 28; Del, 32; Son, 29; and Ton, 34.
The agency seized from the suspects 13 grams of shabu worth P88,400, assorted drug paraphernalia, and the buy-bust money used by authorities.
The operation was conducted by the PDEA Nueva Ecija Provincial Office, PDEA Regional Special Enforcement Team, and Philippine National Police Special Action Force.
The PDEA reported that it confiscated P24.95 million worth of illegal drugs from April 18 to 25 during the conduct of 51 operations across the country.
The confiscated illegal drugs consisted of 3,115.45 grams of shabu, 50 grams of cocaine, 4.94 grams of ecstasy, 4,760 grams of dried marijuana leaves, and 14,600 marijuana plants.
The operations also led to the arrest of 52 individuals.
The agency revealed that the cities of Pasay in the National Capital Region, Lapu-lapu in the Visayas and Dipolog in Mindanao were identified among the major hubs for the latest seizures.
