The local government of Angeles City is launching an emergency app, the first of its kind in Pampanga, on Tuesday, January 28.

The app is called "Angeleño Alerto! 24/7 Mobile App - Personal On-call Guard Interface (POGI)."

The project is aimed to enhance the city’s emergency response capabilities by enabling residents to report incidents and share their location with responders of the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) led by Rodolfo Simeon.

The launching will be led by Mayor Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin, Jr., at the covered court of Barangay Pandan, with a simulation exercise demonstrating the procedure and system of the emergency response app.

The mayor said every minute counts to save a life. “The safety of every Angeleño is our priority. With this app, we can reduce response time, ensuring help arrives faster during critical moments," Lazatin said.

IC Calaguas, Lazatin's Chief Adviser, supervised the planning and execution of the app. She was assisted by Executive Assistant Reina Manuel and Information Communication and Technology Division Chief Mike Lising.

Calaguas explained that the app features location-sharing, allowing responders to pinpoint incidents with accuracy, even when users cannot communicate directly.

With faster, more effective assistance, Calaguas added that the app will save lives during emergencies.

“This technology empowers Angeleños to take control of their safety. No matter where you are, help is now just a tap away,” she added.

Lising said the app is free and easy to install.

In the app, Lising said steps include the registration of users and responders; and dispatching of responders from the ACDRRMO, Bureau of Fire Protection — Angeles City, and Angeles City Traffic and Management Enforcement Unit.

Calaguas said the step-by-step procedure to register and explore the app will be posted via the Angeles City Information Office Facebook page.
