The local government unit (LGU) of Apalit in Pampanga topped the roster of 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) projects completers in Central Luzon and across the country.

The Apalit LGU was among nine other recipients of the SGLGIF in the region.

It topped the list after completing the construction and installation of street lights at its government complex (Phase 2).

The nine other LGUs in Central Luzon are the first in the country to complete their respective projects. They were among the 714 nationwide that passed the Seal of Good Local Governance assessment last year.

This accomplishment marks the region’s third consecutive year in the national Top 10, underscoring consistent commitment to transparency, innovation, and community development.

Aside from Apalit, the LGU of Minalin ranked fifth in the list for completing its solar street light installation.

Bagac in Bataan ranked second by installing solar street lights in Barangay Banawang.

Bagac was followed by Santa Maria in Bulacan in third place for its solar streetlight installation in Barangay San Jose Patag.

Paombong in Bulacan placed fourth after procuring an ultrasound machine to strengthen local health services.

San Marcelino in Zambales landed in sixth place by acquiring a brand-new mobile patrol vehicle to boost peace and order in the municipality.

Pilar in Bataan ranked seventh for installing a CCTV system at its modern public market.

Moncada in Tarlac was 8th with the opening of a local access road at the Camangaan West farm-to-market road.

San Felipe in Zambales placed 9th after constructing a vermicomposting facility to support solid waste management and sustainable agriculture.

Gabaldon in Nueva Ecija completed the list with its solar streetlight installation project.

The SGLGIF, formerly known as the Performance Challenge Fund, provides financial grants to eligible LGUs that pass the assessment under the DILG’s SGLG program.

The SGLG is an institutionalized award, incentive, and recognition-based program of the DILG that promotes exemplary local governance by upholding transparency, accountability, and effective public service delivery across various governance areas.
