The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), in cooperation with the Department of Public Works and Highway and NLEX Corporation, is set to expand the northbound interchange at the Luisita exit of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX).
The interchange, an initiative of Governor Christian Tell Yap and Tarlac City Mayor Susan Yap, is expected to ease traffic conditions and spur economic activities in the province.
“With the growing economy of Tarlac province, it is high time for us to open a southbound interchange for easier access to investors, workers, and local tourists,” Governor Yap said.
BCDA president Joshua Bingcang led the inspection of the site, along with Governor Yap and representatives from NLEX Corporation on Friday, July 4.
Bingcang said works for the planned interchange will commence soon.
BCDA is the owner while Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) is the operator of SCTEX.
