The Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported the arrest of a South Korean and a German national, who are wanted by the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).
The agency said the two foreigners were arrested in Angeles City on March 31, 2025 in two separate operations conducted by BI operatives.
Klaus Dieter Boekhoff, 60, a German national, was caught at his residence in Barangay Malabanias, Angeles City. He was involved in internet fraud.
A warrant of arrest was reportedly issued against the foreigner by a local court in Bamberg, Germany on December 5, 2024 due to multiple counts of fraud.
Also arrested on the same day in his home at the Timog Park Homes, Angeles City was Korean national Ryu Hoijong, 48, who is wanted by authorities in Seoul for larceny.
The Korean and his accomplice allegedly stole in 2015 a vehicle worth 40 million won.
The suspects reportedly registered the vehicle to a third party, and later illegally sold to a buyer.
Both suspects are detained at the BI custodial facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City. They will remain in the detention cell until they are deported.
The Bureau said the two will be placed under immigration blacklist and banned from reentering the country for being undesirable aliens. (PNA)
