UnionBank adds over 11,000 deposit channels with partners

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank), ranked as Asia-Pacific’s second most helpful bank during COVID-19 and the only Philippine bank in the top 20 list, has virtually added thousands more deposit channels through partnerships with ECPay and international convenience store 7-Eleven.

ECPay has over 8,000 partner branches across the country while 7-Eleven has more than 3,000 outlets, significantly growing UnionBank’s presence nationwide.

There will be no deposit fee in 7-Eleven branches while for ECPay partner branches, transaction fee is waived until Dec. 31, 2020.

UnionBank cards business head Antonio Sebastian Corro said these tie-ups with ECPay partners and 7-Eleven provide added comfort and security to UnionBank clients amid the pandemic.

Both retail and corporate users have welcomed the move and this early, positive results have been recorded.

In depositing cash to ECPay partners, UnionBank clients just need to go to CVM Pawnshop, RD Pawnshop, Czarina Foreign Exchange, LCC Mall, or any other ECPay partner branch near them, fill out payment slip, put UnionBank as the biller name with the account number, account name, and amount.

After which they submit payment slip to the counter, give cash for deposit, get a receipt indicating a successful transaction and then the amount will be instantly credited to their account. An SMS notification will be sent as confirmation.

On the other hand at 7-Eleven, UnionBank customers just need to look for the CLiQQ machine and do the following simple steps: select e-money and choose UnionBank; enter the transaction details (account number, account name and amount); get the transaction receipt then scan and pay for it at the counter.

The amount will then be credited instantly to their account, to be confirmed also by an SMS notification.

One of the early users of this CLiQQ app, Allane Orendez, was delighted by the convenience it brings.

“My other bank has been experiencing problems, so I decided to withdraw my money and transfer to my UnionBank account. Take note: no convenience fee via 7-Eleven CLiQQ app. That’s how convenient UB is,” Orendez posted on her social media account.

“Super love the bank and its service, super helpful, Same day deposit credit at once,” she added.

Since the start of the quarantine period, UnionBank has been boosted its products and platforms to enable the public to safely continue their banking transactions amid challenges imposed by the public health crisis. (PR)
