Authorities confiscated an estimated P500,000 worth of "unregistered" cooking oil during a recent raid in an establishment in Barangay Del Pilar, City of San Fernando (CSF).

The operation, carried out by the city government and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), was conducted at a stall inside the CSF's New Public Market.

City officials said the raid was made following complaints regarding the sale and distribution of unlabeled and unregistered cooking oil in the city and nearby areas.

An inspection, conducted by the City Health Office (CHO) and the Business License and Permit Division (BLPD), uncovered multiple violations, including unsanitary conditions, improper storage of food products, pest infestation, and lack of required documentation.

Authorities issued sanitary and closure orders against the establishment to protect public health.

Two individuals found at the site were arrested, but authorities have yet to disclose their identities pending investigation.

The city government said it has intensified its crackdown against non-compliant businesses.

Residents were urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious or illegal businesses to authorities.
