Comelec proclaims winning candidates

With nearly 100% of election returns transmitted, the n Commission on Elections (Comelec) has proclaimed the winners in the May 2025 polls on Tuesday, May 14.

Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda has been proclaimed governor-elect of Pampanga, securing 707,782 votes. She defeated Danilo Baylon got 475,200.

Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda won in the vice gubernatorial race with 748,782 votes, defeating former governor Ed Panlilio who garnered 385,926.

In the congressional races, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. was elected representative of the 1st District receiving 262,517 votes. His opponent, Mike Pangilinan, withdrew his candidacy.

In the 2nd District, former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who sought reelection, ran unopposed.

In the 3rd District, Mica Gonzales won after obtaining 96,774 votes, defeating Hazel Tumang and Paul Quiwa who got 62,423 and 7,126 votes respectively.

In the 4th District, Anna York Bondoc won with 203,602 votes against her challenger, Patrol Partylist Representative Jorge Bustos who got 105,724.

For the provincial board, Cherry Manalo and Christian Halili were elected in the 1st District.

Fritzie David-Dizon and Sajid Eusoff won in the 2nd District.

In the 3rd District, Mymy Gonzales Mercado, Lucky Dinan Labung and Shiwen Lim.

In the 4th District, Kaye Naguit Vince Calara were elected provincial board members.

In the City of San Fernando, incumbent Mayor Vilma Caluag was reelected with 127,124 votes, defeating Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab who had 49,061.

In Mabalacat City, Geld Aquino won with 69,244 votes against Mayor Cris Garbo who got 50,822.

Magalang Mayor Malu Paras-Lacson was reelected with 37,406 votes, defeating Romy Pecson who had 28,634.

Esmie Pineda was reelected mayor in Lubao with 58,657 votes. His opponent, Salvador Dimson Jr., got 15,208 votes.

Guagua Mayor Tonton Torres retained his seat after garnering 38,819 votes. His rival, Dante Torres, only got 13,681 votes.

Sasmuan Mayor Lina Cabrera was reelected with 12,677 votes while her opponent, Charito Montemayor earned 7,781 votes.

In Floridablanca, Michael Galang won with 26,713 votes, narrowly beating Darren Manalansan who got 24,937.

In Sta. Rita, Reynan Calo defeated incumbent Art Salalila with 14,256 votes to 10,543.

In Porac, Mayor Jing Capil succeeded in his reelection bid with 39,939 votes, defeating Mike Tapang who had 23,063.

Mexico Mayor Ruding Gonzales won with 46,487 votes while his rival, Alex Tumang, got 37,168.

Dinan Labung secured the mayorship in Sta. Ana with 17,314 votes over Banung Barro’s 11,757.

In Arayat, Jeffrey Luriz won with 38,765 votes, defeating incumbent Mayor Madir Alejandrino, who received 7,098.

In Candaba, Mayor Rene Maglanque was reelected with 40,267 votes, beating Aniway Baylon who garnered 26,438, and Vice Mayor Resty Sibug who got 4,960 votes.

San Simon Mayor Abundio Punsalan won by garnering 18,114 votes, defeating Vice Mayor Dading Santos with 17,581.

In Masantol, Dan Guintu reclaimed the mayoralty with 19,673. Incumbent mayor Ton Ton Bustos, who only got 16,193, lost to Guintu.

In Sto. Tomas, incumbent Mayor Johnny Sambo was reelected with 11,892 votes.

His opponents Raymond Ronquillo and Bong Pineda received 9,593 and 7,869 votes respectively.

Several mayoral candidates in the towns of Apalit, Minalin, San Luis, Bacolor, and Macabebe ran unopposed and were proclaimed winners. These include Jun Tetangco of Apalit, Philip Naguit of Minalin, Jay Sagum of San Luis, Diman Datu of Bacolor, and Leonardo “Bobong” Flores of Macabebe.
