

Authorities have busted an alleged large-scale cryptocurrency scam and illegal POGO operation in Clark Freeport on Tuesday night, August 5.
The operations were carried out by various units of the Police Regional Office Region 3 (PRO 3), Bureau of Immigration, and Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Brigadier General Rogelio Peñones, director of Police Regional Office III, said the first raid took place at the Asian Greenville Resort located along Jose Abad Santos Avenue inside the Freeport.
It was conducted under Mission Order No. 2025-195, issued by the Bureau of Immigration–Fugitive Search Unit on July 25, 2025.
A total of 24 Chinese nationals—22 males and two females—were apprehended for allegedly operating a cryptocurrency investment scam hub.
Authorities also found eight Filipino women inside the resort.
A follow-up operation was conducted around 3 AM at Unit 31, Clark Hills Village D, Sacobia Street, which led to the arrest of three more Chinese nationals reportedly involved in phishing and other online scam activities.
It was conducted under Mission Order No. 2025-219, issued on August 4, 2025.
Authorities seized computer sets and various electronic devices, which are now undergoing forensic examination.
The foreigners are now facing deportation proceedings and possible charges.
