The City of San Fernando Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) join the observance of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2025.

The month-long event, which focuses on disaster preparedness, was initiated with a citywide grand motorcade.

The local government said the program reinforces its "unwavering commitment to safety and readiness of communities and establishments.

Representing Mayor Vilma Caluag, CDRRMO head Raymond Del Rosario led the opening ceremony of the motorcade.

He thanked the CDRRMO personnel, barangay officials, representatives from attached agencies, civic groups, and various local government departments for their support.

During his speech, he outlined the objectives of NDRM 2025

Shelby Ruiz, chief of the DRRM Division of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region 3, lauded the city government's consistent participation in the annual NDRM.

Ruiz also praised the local government unit's efforts to enhance its disaster preparedness capabilities.

The motorcade, which commenced at SM City Telabastagan, traversed through major thoroughfares and concluded at the SM City Pampanga.

The local government said the motorcade is expected to remind people about the importance of collective action in building a resilient community, as anchored on the NDRM theme: KUMIKILOS (Kayang Umaksyon ng Mamamayan na Isabuhay ang Kahandaan ng bawat Isa para maging Ligtas sa Oras ng Sakuna) Para Sa Kahaandaan, Kaligtasan, at Katatagan.

Other activities under San Fernando’s NDRM observance are Thanksgiving Mass (July 3), Central Luzon Rescue Challenge (July 8-11), Community Transformability Scorecard with CCSFP (July 9), Flood Drill (July 24), and SAFRun (Disaster Resilience Run, July 26) | via CSF Information Office
