Cyber patrollers from the Central Luzon Police Regional Intelligence Division III (RID-3) helped track down and arrest “Daddy,” the Top 4 Most Wanted Person at the regional level, recently.
The 56-year-old suspect from Barangay San Rafael, Guagua, Pampanga, faces two counts of Acts of Lasciviousness under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC) in relation to Section 5(b) of RA 7610; and two counts of Statutory Rape under Article 266-A (1)(D) of the RPC as amended.
Bail for the act of lasciviousness charges is set at P200,000 each, while the statutory rape cases are non-bailable.
Brigadier General Rogelio Peñones, director of Police Regional Office III, said RID-3 cyber operatives used online elicitation and validation to pinpoint the fugitive’s location.
Their operation allowed a team from the Olongapo City Police Station 2 to serve the warrant of arrest.
The suspect underwent a medical examination before being presented to the court.
Peñones said that technology, through cyber patrolling, now plays a crucial role in modern policing.
“Our Cyber Patrollers are at the frontline of modern policing. Their ability to gather, validate, and act on online intelligence is crucial in locating fugitives who attempt to evade justice by hiding in both the physical and digital world. This arrest sends a clear message — technology is our ally in protecting the public and bringing offenders to account. As long as they remain vigilant and skilled, no criminal will remain beyond our reach,” he said.
