Delta facilitates P1-B aid to agriculture sector

Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda said his administration was able to facilitate some P1.063 billion-worth of agricultural assistance and infrastructure projects for the agriculture sector in Pampanga from 2022 to 2024.

For the rice program, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist said the provincial government distributed a total of 73,474 bags of organic fertilizers amounting to P25.716 million to 7,346 farmers.

In 2024, some 1,000 packs of soil conditioner or ameliorants were distributed to 1,000 farmers worth P1million.

Micro nutrients were distributed to beneficiaries in 2023 (3,950 packs worth P1,525,000).

In 2024, some 5,175 packs of nutrients worth ?2,000,000 benefit a total of 9,125 farmers with an overall allocation of P3,525,000.

The Department of Agriculture (DA) also funded the distribution of 7,292 bags of ammonium sulfate in 2023 worth P9.5 million to 3,646 farmers.

The provincial government also gave 1.3 million sampaguita seedlings to farmers between 2022 and 2024 in four towns.

Schools and walk-clients obtained 7,000 fruit-bearing tree seedlings.

some 63 farmers and irrigators associations (FIAs) received P19.025 million under the El Nino mitigation program of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).

The Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RFFA), totalling P443 million assisted 88,595 rice farmers in three years.

Governor Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda also obtained P110.9 million from the Presidential Assistance for Farmers, Fisherfolks, and their Families (PAFFF) program.

The two officials distributed the funds to 11,090 beneficiaries in the province.

For the P360-million Pampanga Food Security Complex that is being built in a government property in Lubao, the provincial government put in P238 million.

DA gave P50 million; and Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech), P72 million for the project.

“Priority ko na tiyakin na sapat at mura ang pagkain ng mga taga-Pampanga (It is my priority to ensure that Pampanga residents have sufficient and affordable food),” the governor said.
